Happy Friday!

And happy 41 Weeks to us!

Here in the States we are just beginning Labor Day weekend, which is officially on Monday. I keep joking with Nick that Finn set a precedent for all of our future children by being born on Halloween, so this baby is sure to follow suit and be born on Labor Day (what a literal day to have a baby, huh?).

Today we went in for a Biophysical Profile or BPP, at our midwife's recommendation. The baby's movements had slowed way down in the past 36 hours and because according to her exam, I was not very dilated or effaced, we were sent in for the BPP. Basically, it is a 30 minute ultrasound where they look for a certain amount of movements, a certain amount of breaths, record the heartrate and measure the amniotic fluid levels, just to be sure that the baby is not in distress. Baby was slow to move, but scored high points overall and they are not worried. Also, baby is in a great position, but not very engaged in my pelvis, which may or may not mean a thing about labor or timing.

We are exhausted again, after a rough night with Finn. It is really challenging going into the newborn phase with a toddler that still hasn't managed to sleep through the night consistently. Unfortunately, little Finn is not feeling so well, so sleep training at the moment is out of the question.

Nick had a busy workday and I was a terrible, impatient mother all day. Which makes me feel doubly bad because these are the last few days that Finn will be an only child. Do children remember these moments? I hope that all the fun days filled with love and big dirt override these terrible mother days.

Finn asked to look at his baby album three times and we read 'Baby is Coming Home' at least as many times. Maybe he knows something that we don't? Kind of like wild horses predicting earthquakes?

Come on, wild horses.

xoxo
