Yesterday was an AMAZING day for a certain almost-2-year-old. First, Papa took Finn on a walk to go watch the diggers and cranes work down the road while Mama and Daddy went somewhere with Poppie (and they took their sadness with them which was good). The digger driver waved at Finn and the crane was super cool to watch, especially when it went up up up. Afterwards, Finn dreamt about diggers and guess what happened when he woke up?
Mama and Daddy were back! And then there was a knock on the door and the UPS man left two boxes on the porch that said FINN HALL. Boxes are super cool to open, because we have to use Daddy's sharp, sharp knife and Finn gets to help hold the knife when it cuts. And guess what was inside the boxes?
A digger! And a tractor with a trailer! From Pa! Incredible excitement insued and I don't think the digger has been left alone for a minute, except when it sleeps while Finn eats (his way of self-soothing, I suppose. Clever kid for putting it to sleep so he can do something else).
The digger even went in the bath and when Uncle Daniel stopped by, Finn proudly showed how the digger still works in the water!
So in one day, two grandfathers, one near, and one far made a very stressful day a very, very wonderful day for a special little boy. (Thank you both!)
