A sunny, snowy Sunday walk on the Coastal Trail in Anchorage.

Finn saw his first moose. It was actually the second moose of the day, the first one was at our friend's home in Wasilla. Just so you know, I would NEVER usually let my precious family stand so close to a wild moose as they are one of Alaska's most dangerous animals. But this little moose was a young, habituated moose standing in a low ditch on the Coastal Trail in Anchorage and we were real quick taking the photo.

Cook Inlet looked like a frozen, muddy, dinosaur-dwelling megalithic landscape. You can't see it too well in this picture, but the texture in the mud behind Nick is actually 10' frozen icebergs. Isn't frozen seawater fascinating?

And a self-portrait that didn't quite capture all of us.
